The ASU Center for Intelligence and National Security, part of the Future Security Initiative, offers undergraduate and graduate students a unique pathway to professional growth in the intelligence and national security fields. Students gain hands-on insight into the security clearance process, intelligence careers, while receiving expert mentorship on applications, resumes, and interview preparation for competitive internships and full-time positions. Those selected as an ASU Intelligence Community Fellow benefit from exclusive, small-group engagements with intelligence and national security professionals, providing rare access, guidance, and career-shaping connections. 

ASU Intelligence Community Fellows Program Overview

ASU Intelligence Community Fellows are appointed for one academic year, and participation can be listed on their resumes (currently accepting applications for new cohort: Spring 2026 to Spring 2027). Fellows are required to:

  • Attend at least one ASU Center for Intelligence and National Security or Future Security Initiative - sanctioned event per semester (two total per year).  Examples include conferences / seminars / workshops with topics related to national security and intelligence.  These events will be advertised by the ASU Center for Intelligence and National Security and can be attended online or in person.

     

  • Submit a brief (500 words) reflection paper on their experience at ASU Center for Intelligence and National Security and Future Security Initiative sanctioned events.

Application Process

Please note only U.S. citizens can participate in the ASU Intelligence Community Fellows’ program.

Applications are due by February 6, 2026 to be named as an ASU Intelligence Community Fellow for Academic Year 2026-2027.

Applications will be reviewed quickly and responses sent out by mid-February 2026.
