Our center is part of the Future Security Initiative and supports a broad range of activities—from specialized coursework and internships to foreign language studies and research opportunities—all designed to build a strong foundation for service and leadership in the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are committed to fostering a community of students from diverse backgrounds who bring fresh perspectives and a strong sense of purpose to the national security career field.

Bergen is a professor of practice at the School of Politics and Global Studies, co-director of the Future Security Initiative, and director of the Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence.

Center Co-Director and Professor of Practice
Rothenberg is the co-director of the Future Security Initiative and professor of practice, working on human rights, international law, and conflict.

Founding Faculty Co-Director and Clinical Professor

COL Erich B. Schneider is a native of Milwaukie, OR. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 as a distinguished military graduate and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army.

Associate Faculty Director, STEM-Lead
John joined the ASU Fulton Schools team in August of 2023, following his retirement from a career with the Central Intelligence Agency that spanned 5 decades.

Dr. Alicia Ellis is an Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of the Master of Arts in Global Security program at Arizona State University.
